Cleaning, decluttering and depersonalizing a home is one easy, inexpensive and rewarding way to prepare your home to sell.
The fewer things there are in the home, the larger it will look, so remove knickknacks and excess furniture. Also take down family photos, religious items and political posters so prospective buyers can envision their family in the house, not yours. Finally, you may want to hire a cleaning service to do a deep cleaning.
By the time you do all that organizing and decluttering you are usually tuckered out. Which is why I suggest hiring a professional cleaner. Having someone do that last part makes it so much easier to keep it up once you finally list.
