There are rumors that go around saying that after Christmas life and especially the real estate market slows down to crawl. While that can be true it’s not a guarantee. In January and February people can be slower but a snail’s pace is dependent on the market. For example, I just contracted 3 of my 4 listings in January within 2 weeks. However, part of what helped them move was my clients listened and trusted my experience. Now I’ll share 3 mistakes NOT to make when selling your home in Winter.
- Clear the Snow: I know that it can be a bother when the snow won’t stop coming. But when you are trying to sell your house and there is a ton of snow make sure you clear all the pathways and the driveway. This makes it convenient for potential buyers and shows you’ve take care of your property.
- Don’t Give Into the Winter Blah: Don’t quit trying. Keep it clean. Keep the house organized. Buy fresh flowers, bake cookies do whatever your Realtor tells you to do to get your house sold.
- Not Scrubbing Your Windows: Light is always a challenge in winter. Don’t cut corners and ha ve dirty windows. Clean the up, inside and out. Make sure to keep the blinds open and let that light in for showings.
I have tons more tips and advice that I’d love to share with you. Give me a call and let’s list your house!
